Are estimates really free?
Yes. Inspections and written estimates are always free and there’s no obligation.
Do you handle permits?
Yes. We obtain the required township construction permits and schedule inspections.
What happens if it rains during my project?
We watch the forecast closely and never leave your home open to the weather. If rain moves in, we secure and protect the work area and pick back up when conditions allow.
Roof Replacement
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most single-family homes are torn off and re-roofed in one to two days. Larger or steeper roofs, multiple layers of old shingles or significant deck repairs can add a day. We keep the home watertight at the end of every work day.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in New Jersey?
Often, yes — permit requirements depend on the scope of work and your township’s construction office. We confirm what your project needs, pull any required permits and schedule the inspections as part of the job.
Roof Repair
Should I repair or replace my roof?
If damage is limited to one area and the rest of the roof is in good shape, repair is usually the right call. If the roof is near the end of its life or leaks in several spots, repairs become money spent on a roof that is failing anyway. We will give you an honest opinion either way.

Siding Installation & Repair
What siding holds up best near the ocean?
Quality vinyl and fiber cement both perform very well in salt air. Fiber cement resists impact and fire and holds paint for years; premium vinyl is low-maintenance and never needs painting. We’ll walk you through the trade-offs for your home and budget.
Can you replace just a few damaged pieces of siding?
Yes. We repair storm-damaged sections regularly. If your exact panel is still made we’ll match it; if not, we can pull matching panels from a less-visible wall and use new siding there.
Gutters & Gutter Guards
What size gutters do I need?
Most homes do well with 5" seamless gutters, but larger or steeper roofs — and homes that see heavy wind-driven rain — often benefit from 6" gutters and oversized downspouts. We size gutters to your roof area and pitch.
Are gutter guards worth it?
In neighborhoods with mature trees — oaks and pines especially — quality micro-mesh guards dramatically cut down on clogging and ladder time. We’ll tell you honestly whether guards make sense for your property.
Window Replacement
How long does window replacement take?
Most homes are done in one to two days. Each opening is only open for a short time, so your home is never left exposed overnight.
What’s the difference between insert and full-frame replacement?
An insert window fits inside your existing frame and is faster and less invasive. Full-frame replacement removes everything down to the rough opening — the right choice when frames are rotted or you want to change the size or style.
Entry, Patio & Storm Doors
Fiberglass or steel — which door is better?
Fiberglass won’t dent, rust or rot and handles salt air beautifully, which makes it our go-to near the shore. Steel is secure and budget-friendly but can dent and rust if scratched.
Can you replace a rotted door frame without replacing the door?
Often, yes. We can rebuild rotted jambs, sills and brick molding with PVC or treated materials that won’t rot again.
Deck Building & Repair
Composite or wood — which deck is better?
Composite and PVC decking cost more up front but won’t rot, splinter or need yearly staining. Pressure-treated wood is the budget-friendly choice and holds up well with maintenance. We build both.
Do I need a permit to build a deck?
New decks in New Jersey almost always need a construction permit. We prepare the drawings and handle the permit and inspections.
Soffit & Fascia Repair
Why is my fascia rotting?
The most common cause is water — clogged or overflowing gutters, missing drip edge or gaps in roofline flashing. We fix the source so the new trim doesn’t rot out again.
Does soffit really affect my roof?
Yes. Vented soffit supplies the intake air your attic needs. Without it, heat and moisture build up, shingles age faster and ice dams become more likely.
Storm Damage Repair
What should I do right after storm damage?
Make sure everyone is safe, take photos of the damage, and prevent further damage if you can do so safely. Then call us — we’ll tarp or board up what’s needed and document everything before repairs begin.
Will you work with my insurance company?
Yes. We provide detailed photos and written estimates, and we can meet your adjuster at the property so nothing gets missed. Your coverage decisions are between you and your insurer, but we make the process much easier.
Exterior Painting
When is the best time to paint a house exterior in NJ?
Late spring through early fall, when temperatures stay above 50°F and humidity is reasonable. We schedule around the weather so paint cures properly.
How long will an exterior paint job last?
With proper prep and quality paint, most exteriors look great for 7–10 years. South-facing and ocean-facing walls may need touch-ups sooner.
Exterior Carpentry & Wood Rot Repair
Can rotted wood be repaired instead of replaced?
Small areas of rot can sometimes be consolidated with epoxy fillers. Most of the time, cutting out and replacing with rot-proof PVC is the longer-lasting fix — especially near the water.
Is wood rot covered by insurance?
Usually not, because it develops slowly over time. That’s why catching it early saves money.
Power Washing
Will power washing damage my siding?
Not the way we do it. We soft-wash siding at low pressure with cleaning solutions that do the work, which is safer for vinyl, paint and seals than blasting with high pressure.
How often should I wash my house?
Near the ocean, once a year keeps salt and mildew under control. Further inland, every one to two years is usually enough.
